The Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS) is a nonprofit association comprised of people interested and engaged in the surveying and mapping profession. Members include licensed professionals, unlicensed technicians (associates), teachers, students, companies, and others who have committed to the advancement of the surveying and mapping profession for the benefit of the public's welfare.
Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS) membership year runs from October 1 through September 30. Effective February 1, 2018, MSS has adopted an anniversary date program for new members. Membership is not prorated but applied for a full year from the date of application and dues payment. For example, a new member who joins on May 1 will enjoy a full year's membership through April 30 of the following year.
Regular Member: $285
A licensed professional or property line surveyor living and/or working in Maryland may join the Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS). Regular membership in MSS includes membership in the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).
Associate Member: $93
Persons engaged in surveying, engineering or related work or a student enrolled in a surveying or related curriculum who are not licensed surveyors may join the Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS) as Associate Members. These members may join the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) for an additional $50 per year in addition to their MSS associate membership. This membership category also includes persons who reside and work outside of Maryland who are not licensed as Professional Land Surveyors or Property Line Surveyors in the State of Maryland, who would like to receive correspondence and news from MSS. Associate members shall have all the rights of regular membership excepting the right to vote or hold office.
Sustaining Member: $290
Individuals, corporations, companies and firms having a professional interest or concern in the activities of the Society and its members, including firms engaged in the manufacture or distribution or surveying instruments and supplies or firms providing support services to land surveyors may join the Maryland Society of Surveyors (MSS) as Sustaining Members. Sustaining members shall have all the rights of regular membership excepting the right to vote or hold office.
Non-Member
Creating a MSS website profile allows a non-members prospect, sponsor or research buyer to register with the MSS site to sign up for events and receive communication regarding upcoming events. This will not register the user to receive any MSS member benefits.
