Women in Surveying Committee

The Maryland Society of Surveyors Women in Surveying Committee is dedicated to supporting and advancing women in the land surveying profession.

Our mission is to create a strong network of encouragement, mentorship, and professional development for women already in the field while inspiring more women to consider surveying as a career. We aim to foster open conversations about the challenges women face, including stereotypes, workplace bias, physical demands, and the pressure to constantly prove themselves, and to identify meaningful ways to overcome those barriers. Through respect, understanding, advocacy, and friendship, we strive to build confidence, amplify women’s voices, and create a more inclusive and supportive profession for future generations of surveyors.
